Churchill Retirement Living on "Crusade" for new land
Young at heart
Owners, Joyce Oates, 80 and Alec Robertson, 76, both moved to Daniels Lodge with no intention of living a quiet life. In fact, since moving in they have been on trips overseas and were more than happy to lock up and leave their apartments with piece of mind that they would be secure.
Joyce Oates moved to Daniels Lodge in September 2006 from Orpington, Kent to be
closer to her family and has no regrets about moving:
I moved from a three bedroom detached house after being widowed 7 years ago and
have no qualms about the move whatsoever. Friends thought I was crazy to move here
but the positives by far out weigh the negatives. Our Lodge Manager is great and the
community is very welcoming here too.
Joyce has since spent two months in New Zealand with family and felt totally comfortable with leaving her apartment for the length of time she did: I have made some great friends here and my neighbour picked up my mail and brought provisions for my return. We have a very happy community here, very pleasant, safe and secure. I have no hesitation in recommending it to friends.
Alec Robertson, who gave Joyce a helping hand with her travel arrangements, has, since moving in, been to Australia for a month and United Sates of America for two weeks. Alec moved to Daniels Lodge in May 2006 from Wool, Dorset. Since losing his wife, Alec also decided to downsize from his bungalow which had a very large garden to maintain.
Alec particularly enjoys the advantages of living at Daniels Lodge:
It is a five minute stroll to the beach and shops and with so much in-built security it was
no problem whatsoever to go on holiday for a month. The community spirit is also great
here. I was recently elected as the Residents Association Chairman so I get involved
with organising charity events and social trips. Overall we lead a very active lifestyle and
the Lodge Manager is wonderful if we need anything!
Daniels Lodge features a selection of one and two-bedroom self-contained retirement apartments, all of which benefit from a video-entry system, a 24-hour emergency telephone system, and a Lodge Manager. Communal facilities include an Owners Lounge and Guest Suite, a laundry room and landscaped gardens. Conveniently placed for all of Highcliffes amenities, the development is on a level walk to local shops and services.
Churchill Retirement Living is the UKs fastest growing, privately owned retirement housebuilder. Its developments can be found in carefully selected locations in the south of England and in the Midlands, all of which offer the very best of local amenities and shopping, together with independence, security and 24-hour support and help when required.
