Churchill Retirement Living Purchase New Site In Bournemouth

The site has been purchased with outline planning permission; however Churchill will be submitting a new planning application for one and two-bedroom purpose-built retirement apartments. This prestigious development will comprise an Owners Lounge, Guest Suite and communal gardens, and is superbly located within walking distance of the shops and amenities in Bournemouth town centre and Westbourne parade.

Following issues with squatters on the site and the obvious negative impact this has had on the area, our priority on purchasing the development was to evict the squatters and secure the site to prevent them from returning, hopefully providing peace of mind and reassurance to our new neighbours. The site has unfortunately been rundown for many years now, however since purchasing it we have already hoarded the site so that it is better presented and we hope to commence demolition of the remaining
buildings within 4 weeks. Our aim has been to tidy up the area until we are able to get planning permission for a retirement scheme. Subject to planning, our aim is to return this part of Bournemouth to its former glory; we hope to start construction within the next 12 months with completion expected 14 months thereafter. McCarthy continued, The purchase of the Bournemouth site follows a difficult 18 months in the housing market, during which time we stopped all new land acquisition, however we are definitely now seeing signs of improvement. The Bournemouth site is the first site we have purchased in 2 years and is therefore a significant step forward and we hope the first of many more, as we are actively looking for more new sites in the Bournemouth, Poole, Broadstone and Christchurch areas for purchase in the near future.
