Churchill does it again! Another accolade from the New Homes Gardens Awards
Every Churchill Retirement Living Lodge has professionally maintained landscaped gardens for Owners to enjoy, and the Owners at Cornerway Lodge in Hindhead can be especially proud of theirs, knowing it has just won one of the prestigious New Homes Gardens Awards. Cornerway Lodge scooped Silver Gilt in the Best Landscaped Retirement Development (volume sector) category, adding to the two accolades Churchill won in the 2010 New Homes Gardens Awards for Mulberry Lodge and Hamlet Lodge.
The New Homes Garden Awards are held in association with Express newspapers to recognise and reward excellence in garden and landscape design. They are now in their eighth year, and were launched by journalist and former Daily Telegraph editor David Hoppit. He says: "Once, a developer's idea of landscaping was a lawn with a cherry tree in the middle. But now housebuilders recognise the positive impact gardens have on our environment and lifestyle. And this year, the quality of the entries was astonishingly high.”
All the more reason, then, to congratulate Cornerway Lodge. The judging panel praised it as being an "excellent communal landscape with nice features and good seating areas…. excellent planting scheme and well-structured and constructed landscape creating a superb environment for residents.”
As many Churchill Owners have downsized from larger homes where they had their own gardens to tend, the value of the gardens at the Lodges cannot be overstated, and at many of them the Owners continue to take an active interest in them, sometimes even contributing a treasured plant or ornament from their old home.
As well as award winning gardens, Churchill Retirement Living offers secure and independent living in Lodges of self-contained one and two bedroom apartments. Owners benefit from the services of a Lodge Manager, 24 hour Careline, an Owners' Lounge, guest suite and laundry room. All the Lodges are in convenient and attractive locations close to essential amenities such as shops, GP surgeries, and public transport connections.
