Credit Controller – Ringwood

  • Job title: Credit Controller
  • Location: Ringwood, Hampshire
  • Hours: Monday to Friday full time working 37 hours per week
  • Reward & Benefits: Competitive salary, plus Company benefits

About the role

We’re looking for a personable and diligent Credit Controller to join the finance team at our Head Office in Ringwood.

As the Credit Controller, you will be responsible for the control and oversight of overdue accounts, contacting our customers in a friendly manner when payments are overdue to discuss settling their accounts. You will discuss the terms of their credit and negotiate repayment plans.

You will be able to professionally handle customers who are facing financial difficulties and decide upon the best course of action. At other times you will liaise with Solicitors to pass on unrecoverable debt as a last resort.
We are currently looking to further develop some of our credit control system functionality and are looking for someone who will support the Team Supervisor to evolve and develop process and procedures.

Office hours are Monday – Thursday, 09:00-17:30 and Friday 09:00-17:00.

About you

Our preferred candidate will demonstrate good experience in Accounts and Finance, ideally with experience as a Credit Controller, but this is not imperative.

It is important that you can establish and maintain good client relationships through various communication channels, be it email, telephone and other written correspondence.  With clear communication skills, you will be able to manage expectations and make sound decisions whilst remaining calm under pressure.  With a tactful approach, you will be able to cope with challenging situations and be assertive when necessary.

With a good standard of education, with a minimum of GCSE to level C / 5 in English and Maths, you will be able to reconcile complex accounts, be numerically adept and show excellent attention to detail.

You will demonstrate good IT skills, with a high standard of competence in Microsoft Office applications including Excel.
