About the role
We’re looking for an Estimator to join our Commercial team based at our South East regional office in West Byfleet, Surrey.
You will be at the heart of our ambitious land buying and construction programme, a key member of the regional team working closely with our Land, Design and Construction colleagues.
This is a fast paced role where clear thought and sound commercial judgement are required. You will be producing, initial cost appraisals, project cost plans and full construction budgets as the schemes go from land purchase to planning application and through to construction.
You will utilise bespoke and generic office software along with COINS construction management software. Prior experience of using COINS would be an advantage but is not essential.
The hours of work are Monday to Thursday, 9am – 5.30pm and Fridays 9am – 5pm with one hour for lunch. You will be required to visit sites across South London, Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Berkshire when required, therefore you must hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
You must have a background in Construction, preferably in residential development with a HNC or HND qualification.
It goes without saying that you’ll be comfortable understanding architect drawings, specification documents and the relevant terminology.
It’s important you’re experience includes measuring from drawings, preparing bills of quantities and using other standard surveying techniques. You will need to work to a high level of attention to detail and a great degree of accuracy and be comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Excel, Word, CAD and COINS.
