About the role
We are recruiting for a Land Director to lead and support our Midlands regional Land Team based in our Bromsgrove Office.
You will be responsible for acquiring land and will be familiar with working to policies and standard company practices as you ensure site selection is in accordance with the defined criteria.
You will maintain budgetary control over all aspects of the Land Department’s operations including approving any additional costs on land projects and agree exceptions to project budgets, so that profit margins are maintained.
You will be a motivating, supportive manager, leading the team; responsible for their career development, setting and meeting their targets and conducting any necessary training and one to ones.
Your communication skills will be professional and able to build working internal and external relationships; in particular with the Regional Managing Director, Main Board and Solicitors, representatives of Local Authorities, Estate Agents and Surveyors.
The role comes with extensive travel requirements within the region therefore you must have a valid UK Drivers Licence. The hours of work are Monday to Thursday, 9am – 5.30pm and Fridays, 9am – 5pm.
About you
You will have been previously in a Senior Management post with experience in buying Land for residential developments.
A proven track record in land purchase is essential and would be desirable if you have a sector associated qualification such as an RICS or MRTPI qualification also.
You will have advanced negotiation skills with tact and the ability to influence other people with clear, professional communication skills and confidence to present in meetings.
