About the role

We are recruiting for a commercially astute Land Manager to support our business growth for the South West Region. based remotely but typically travelling to our regional office in Ringwood once a week.

You will support our land team to investigate and appraise all possible sites for development throughout Bristol, Gloucestershire and South Wales.

You will investigate and appraise all possible sites for development, working closely with the Land team and the Regional Managing Director as well as our planning, construction and design teams on a day to day basis. The role is fast moving and sociable; you’ll liaise with Local Authorities, Estate Agents and Land Owners on a day to day basis.  You’ll be required to make a minimum number of recommendations to purchase land in line with the Regional Land objectives.

Excitingly, you’ll have the opportunity to help the company grow through the acquisition of new sites.  You’ll see your efforts rewarded with successful planning applications and customers who love their independent, safe and secure home – knowing you’ve had a part to play in this and being rewarded not only on site acquisition but also on legal completion of the site.

Your duties will include finding new sites for the Company to purchase, negotiating the purchase of them and responsibility for all transactions and information being accurate and timely.

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 9.00am – 5.30pm and 9.00am – 5.00pm on Friday. Please note that overtime may be required during peak times.

About you

You’ll have previous land buying experience, either as a Land Buyer or Senior Land Buyer within the property sector, buying brownfield sites either for a developer for residential use or for other sectors for commercial use e.g. retail or care.

You will have the ability to influence decisions using appropriate methods and facts and proven negotiation, communication and organisational skills.

You will be analytical, a driven individual with a hunger for success, will enjoy meeting targets and overcoming challenges.

It’s essential that you’re a competent driver with a valid UK Driving Licence as you’ll be spending a large proportion of your time out of the office.
