Coronavirus Statement – updated 1st August

As the Coronavirus pandemic continues to develop in the UK, the health and wellbeing of our Owners, Customers and Colleagues is extremely important to us. As a group, we manage over 190 retirement developments across the country helping over 10,000 older people to manage this challenging period as safely and confidently as possible.

A large part of that falls to our team of dedicated and selfless Lodge Managers, many of whom have gone to great lengths to make sure the people they are supporting have everything they need. Thanks to their continued efforts, the rate of Covid-19 infections among our Owners is less than half the average infection rate for people aged over 65 in England. However, with the pandemic far from over we must not be complacent. Our Lodge Managers are classified as key workers, with priority access to PPE and testing, and will remain at the forefront of our efforts to keep Owners safe.

Across our developments information is being shared with our Owners to help ensure we provide the very best guidance and support that we can as the Government’s lockdown measures begin to ease and the guidance regarding support bubbles and meeting other households continues to evolve

Owners’ Lounges within our developments are now open to our Owners, however we are constantly reviewing this in line with Government guidance, and strict social distancing rules are in place throughout all our communal areas. Owners are welcome to use outdoor communal spaces to meet in groups of up to six people while adhering to social distancing guidelines.

Our Guest Suites and Wellbeing Suites have been partially re-opened, with a range of new measures in place to ensure the latest Government guidelines are followed. For the time being the use of the Guest Suite will be reserved for family and friends of Owners living within the development.

Our Sales Offices have also re-opened with a range of new measures in place, following all the Government and industry guidelines to keep Colleagues, Customers and our Owners safe. Sales Office visits are currently by appointment and limited to two people at a time.

For Customers who are not yet ready to visit in person, we can also offer “virtual appointments” with our Sales Executives via video call, and our phone lines are open to answer any enquiries you may have. The majority of our construction sites across the country began a phased return to work from 1st July, with comprehensive new Government and industry guidance in place to protect our Colleagues, contractors and the wider public.

As Government advice continues to evolve, we will of course continue to monitor the situation and update our policies and the information provided on our website.
