Dame Esther Rantzen returns to hometown to visit Sheldon Lodge

Dame Esther Rantzen paid a visit to her hometown recently, visiting Sheldon Lodge in Berkhamsted. The renowned charity campaigner has recently been revealed as the new brand ambassador for Churchill Retirement Living.

Dame Esther was born in Berkhamsted and returned to the area to visit some of our Owners and have a look at the facilities on offer at Sheldon Lodge. She's well known for her charity work and has recently spent time working on her new charity, The Silver Line, helping to tackle loneliness in the older generation.

As part of the relationship that Churchill has with Dame Esther Rantzen, the housebuilder will continue to support The Silver Line as one of its three main charities.

Dame Esther said: "I’m delighted to be part of the Churchill family. It was very special coming back to the place where I was born and lived until I was five. It’s a beautiful town.

“At Sheldon Lodge I got a chance to meet the owners and hear their stories. There is a lovely community there and I can see how lives can be transformed when people make what can be a very difficult decision to downsize.”
