Churchill Retirement Living has given a warm welcome to its first new apartment Owners at Lockyer Lodge in Sidford, where a thriving community is starting to take shape. Despite the lockdown, the first wave of Owners are enjoying an independent lifestyle since moving into their brand new one and two bedroom apartments, and Lodge Manager Tina has put all the necessary measures in place to keep everyone safe.
Among the new Owners is Barbara Baigent who says: “I like everything about Lockyer Lodge. A load has been lifted off my shoulders and I feel 20 years younger. Two of my new neighbours here are also called Barbara which is great – the more the merrier! My message to anyone else considering a move to Lockyer Lodge would be don’t delay – just do it, you won’t regret it. Living here is all that I thought it would be and more.”
Barbara Roberts – another of the trio – is delighted that her pet poodle Molly was able to join her for the move to her new apartment. “Seeing her enjoy a post-walk nap, all cosy and calm in our apartment is a joy,” she says. “The Churchill and Millstream team work very hard but still maintain their warm and caring approach as they help new apartment Owners move here and settle in. I’d like to thank them for creating such a warm, settling and happy home for me and Molly.”
Churchill’s Regional Sales & Marketing Director Zoe Bonnington adds: “People are often pleasantly surprised when they step into a Churchill development, as there’s a common misconception that retirement living is like a care home. Simply put, it is not, and if you come and see for yourself you’ll discover the reality of what living at Lockyer Lodge is all about.”
Developments like Lockyer Lodge have also proven to be very safe places to live throughout the pandemic thanks to the excellent safety measures, the hard work of Lodge Managers like Tina, and the secure, self-contained nature of this type of accommodation. This has meant the rate of Covid-19 infections among Churchill Owners has remained less than a third of that seen across the wider UK population, and safety and wellbeing continues to be a top priority.
Lockyer Lodge is located near the heart of Sidford close to shops and amenities, with stunning views, and perfectly located for local transport links. The Lodge comprises 40 private, self-contained apartments with spacious rooms throughout, considerately designed with the over 60s in mind, and a warm, comfortable Owners’ Lounge where regular social events will start up again as soon as Covid restrictions allow.
