It’s a hat trick for Churchill Retirement Living

Retirement housebuilder, Churchill Retirement Living is celebrating three major awards wins.

The developer has been crowned ‘Most Outstanding Retirement Operator’ at the UK Over 50s Housing Awards. These awards recognise excellence within the retirement industry and the award is particularly special as it’s the seventh consecutive year Churchill has won.

Following this win, Churchill were recognised in the prestigious What House? Awards, winning bronze in the ‘Best Medium Housebuilder category’. Up against major housebuilders, Churchill was the only retirement developer to win in the category.

Meanwhile, accountancy firm BDO found Churchill Retirement to be a ‘Top performing company for profit growth the Central South mid market’ awarding Churchill for their impressive growth during the last four years.

Churchill Retirement Living was founded by Clinton and Spencer McCarthy, originally as Emlor Homes, in a converted office above Clinton’s garage in New Milton. In 2001 the brothers changed direction to focus exclusively on building retirement apartments, and Churchill is now the fastest growing retirement housebuilder in the UK

The company, which is in a period of rapid growth, now employs close to 450 people across six UK offices.

Spencer McCarthy, Churchill Retirement Living’s Chairman, said:

“As a company, the way we do business, our people, our superb build quality, and customer service are fundamental to our success. It’s fantastic to see others recognise this, and I’m very proud of each award we’ve won.

“Like many housebuilders, the last few years have been challenging, but we’ve come out of the recession stronger than ever. We’ve worked hard to achieve what we have and being recognised for our success across these very different awards really highlights Churchill’s excellence.”
