Local club is bowled over by donation

Local bowlers have had a great start to the season thanks to a generous donation from Churchill Retirement Living.

The retirement housebuilder, which has recently built its Tamarisk Lodge development in East Wittering, has donated two oak benches to Witterings & District Bowls Club in the town.

The donation was part of the company’s commitment to support the local communities in which it builds. Churchill’s sales and marketing director Sam Burley took part in a presentation at the Club, before delivering the first bowl of the new season.

Chris Horsley, secretary at Witterings & District Bowls club, said: “We are extremely grateful to Churchill Retirement Living for this kind donation and for supporting our Club. We’re always on the lookout for new members so welcome anyone who would like to have a go at lawn bowls to come and visit us at our friendly club.”

Sam Burley, sales and marketing director at Churchill Retirement Living, said:

At Churchill, we recognise how important it is for us to play an active role in our local communities, so it was fantastic to get involved with the bowls club. It was a pleasure to meet everyone, and we look forward to offering further support to the club in the future.

Located on Stocks Lane, Tamarisk Lodge offers a collection of 26 one and two bedroom privately owned retirement apartments and shared facilities, designed exclusively for the over 60s.
