Mayor of Fareham helps raise cash for local charities at Park Gate retirement development

The Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Mrs Pamela Bryant joined local retirees in Park Gate this week for a special Warming Morning event to raise a total of £123.65 for The Mayor of Fareham’s Charities.

On Tuesday 4th February everyone was welcomed to step out of the cold and into the warmth of the cosy Owners’ Lounge at Churchill Retirement Living’s new Beck Lodge retirement development on Botley Road, where they were treated to coffee and cake in return for a small donation.

All of the money raised will go to The Mayor of Fareham’s Charities, which this year include Fareport Talking News, 1350 Squadron Air Training Corps, and The Rowans Hospice.

Caroline Haswell, Regional Marketing Manager for Churchill Retirement Living, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome the Mayor to our Warming Morning event to raise funds for such a great charity, chosen by our apartment Owners who wanted to help it continue its vital work. Every penny counts, which is why we’re delighted so many people came along to support the event and make a donation in return for the refreshments on offer. It was also the perfect opportunity for visitors to experience the lifestyle on offer at the Lodge.”

Churchill’s Warming Morning events take place every February at its retirement developments across the country, with all the money raised going towards local causes chosen by Owners. The Lodges that raise the most will also have their total matched by Churchill’s charitable arm, the Churchill Foundation, boosting the funds even further.
