New Leaf Support receives donation from local retirees

Local charity New Leaf Support was delighted to receive a cheque for £1,720 from apartment Owners at Churchill Retirement Living’s Beatrice Lodge development in Sittingbourne this week. Half the money was raised at a special ‘Warming Morning’ event held at the Lodge, which was then match-funded by Churchill’s own charity the Churchill Foundation, doubling the total.

Anne Scherrer, Regional Marketing Manager for Churchill Retirement Living, said:

Our Warming Morning events took place at Churchill developments across the country way back in February, and Beatrice Lodge raised one of the highest totals, which meant their efforts were matched by our own charity the Churchill Foundation. After a long delay due to Covid-19, it was a pleasure to finally be able to present this cheque to such a fantastic local charity.

New Leaf Support, which provides temporary accommodation for women and their children who are fleeing domestic abuse, was chosen by Beatrice Lodge’s Owners who want to help it continue its vital work.

Beatrice Lodge is a stylish collection of one and two bedroom retirement apartments for the over 60s which are available to buy now. Each apartment has been designed exclusively for those in their retirement years and has a number of safety and security features, such as 24 hour emergency call line and a video entry system, for complete peace of mind. Its welcoming Owners’ Lounge is a great place to enjoy a catch-up with like-minded neighbours, and for holding regular social events.
