Churchill Retirement Living has given a warm welcome to its first new Owners at Trewin Lodge & Trewin Mews in Yate, where a thriving community is starting to take shape. Despite the pandemic, the first wave of Owners have been enjoying an independent lifestyle since moving into the collection of retirement apartments and cottages, and Lodge Manager Yvonne has put all the necessary measures in place to keep everyone safe.
Among the first to move in was Denise Hunt, who says: “I like everything about my new cottage, it’s absolutely perfect. The surroundings and communal areas are brilliant, and everyone I’ve managed to meet has been really nice and friendly. To anyone else who is considering a move here I would say do it, and the sooner the better. If you do it in good time then you’ll have more time to enjoy the benefits, rather than leaving it too late. I think living in a place like this helps to keep you a bit younger as well!”
Apartment Owners Gloria and Peter Spencer are also enjoying their new lifestyle. “The best thing about living here is the friendliness of the people,” says Gloria. “We all look out for one another and people will knock on your door to check things are ok, it’s been really nice. We also have a wonderful Lodge Manager. It’s a big upheaval, but once you’ve made the move that’s it, you’ve got a life of luxury. I wish we’d done it years ago!”
Trewin Lodge and Trewin Mews are located on Normandy Drive near the heart of Yate, close to shops and amenities, and perfectly located for local transport links. The development comprises 65 private, self-contained apartments and 6 cottages with spacious rooms throughout, considerately designed with the over 60s in mind, and a warm, comfortable Owners’ Lounge where regular social events will start up again as soon as Covid restrictions allow.
