A resident from Porthcurno is celebrating after being announced as the lucky winner of a competition to name Churchill Retirement Living’s new development on New Town Lane in Penzance.
Pat Russell and her husband Stuart, who have lived in Porthcurno for five years, were presented with a cheque for £100 at a naming ceremony for the new Mount's Bay Lodge development in the town.
Mrs Russell said: “I saw the competition advertised and thought of a number of names but decided to settle on Mount's Bay Lodge. The development looks out on to Mount's Bay with excellent views across the harbour to St Michael’s Mount so I thought that Mount's Bay Lodge had a nice ring to it. I’m thrilled to have won!”
Lauren Amirmadhi, Regional Marketing Executive for Churchill Retirement Living, said: “Churchill Retirement Living likes to involve the local community in choosing the names for its developments and often does so by running a competition asking for suggestions. We received a vast number of entries for the new Penzance development and we are pleased to have awarded Mr and Mrs Russell with their winning cheque.”
Mount's Bay Lodge, which is currently under construction, is located just to the edge of the town centre and will comprise 51 private, self-contained apartments that are specially designed for retired Owners, with features such as a video-entry system, lift to all floors, a 24 hour care and support system, and a Lodge Manager.
Communal facilities include an Owners’ Lounge, Guest Suite and landscaped gardens. Like all Churchill Retirement Living developments, the location has been chosen for convenience and is within easy walking distance of the wide selection of shops and amenities of Penzance town centre and has good public transport links.
Mount's Bay Lodge is due to launch in Autumn. For more information or to register your interest, please call 0800 458 1856.
