Home Exchange proves popular with local retirees

Churchill Retirement Living is providing a helping hand to purchasers hoping to buy their dream apartment at its Grange Lodge development in Portishead, where there are just two properties now remaining.

Retirees have been taking advantage of the housebuilder’s handy Home Exchange Service, which sees Churchill buy their existing property from them at an agreed price.

It has been designed to reduce the worry and hassle that can be associated with selling a property, enabling a quick sale and removing the cost of estate agent fees. Churchill Retirement Living obtains independent valuations of the purchaser’s property at no cost to them, while also providing £500 towards solicitor’s costs.

82-year old Veronica Stag purchased an apartment at Grange Lodge after moving from her home in Clevedon. She said: “I came to an Open Day at the Lodge and as soon as I walked in, I knew this was where I wanted to live. I had begun to feel lonely in my house by myself, and wanted to find a place where there was a nice sense of community. The Home Exchange Service made my move to the Lodge very quick and easy – I was thrilled. I have settled in very well and my family has said that they have noticed such a difference in me.”

Roland and Barbara Cox moved into their new apartment less than a month after reserving thanks to the Home Exchange Service. They said: “We love living at Grange Lodge as everything we need is so close by. It’s a very friendly place to live and we have made lots of new friends. Grange Lodge, located on St Peters Road in Portishead is a stylish collection of 57 one and two bedroom privately-owned retirement apartments.
