Before you rush out to the shops this year, have a go at some of these inexpensive and easy DIY Christmas gifts.
Edible presents are always a hit with friends and family of all ages. You don't need to be a whizz in the kitchen to master shortbread, and it's a firm favourite. You can make it in just half an hour, with only a few ingredients.
Peppermint creams are a classic gift for Christmas, as well as other occasions. It doesn't take any great skill to make them. All you need are icing sugar, an egg white and some peppermint extract. And perhaps some naughty chocolate to dip them.
Infused Olive Oils
For one last edible present, there isn't much easier than making infused olive oils. Some pretty bottles, olive oil and some tasty herbs and spices are all it takes to create a gourmet treat.
Everyone loves candles during the festive period, and you don't have to be able to make your own. Jazz up some plain ones by floating them in jars and adding some pretty ribbon. It won't take more than a minute!
If you want some beautiful jars for your floating candles or anything else, it's easy to do. Fill them with sweets, biscuits or whatever you like. Just mask off half the jar, paint the other half with glue and throw on the glitter.
