Martin Young has been appointed Group Operations Director at leading retirement housebuilder, Churchill Retirement Living.
Martin will join the Group’s main board, working closely with Group Chairman, Spencer McCarthy, to develop the company’s strategic growth plans and to consolidate its core business objectives.
The company, which is in a period of rapid growth and expansion, has plans to double unit sales to over 1,000 apartments by 2018. As Group Operations Director, Martin’s role will support these plans, overseeing the company’s South West, South East and Eastern regions and ensuring maximum profitability and efficiency.
With extensive experience in the retirement housing market, Martin originally qualified as an architect, before joining the retirement industry, where he stayed for 10 years. After establishing a company which specialised in high end open market residential property, he progressed into retirement developments and more latterly care homes. Martin moves from within Churchill where he has been
Regional Managing Director of the South West region for the past two years.
Spencer McCarthy, Churchill Retirement Living’s Chairman, said:
“Churchill is the fastest growing retirement housebuilder in the market, and with turnover of £131million we’re clearly an industry success story. But we aren’t stopping there, and to achieve our goals we need the very best people.
“Martin is a trusted and respected part of Churchill and in this new role, his expertise and skills will help us achieve our mission to be the most successful housebuilder in the UK.”
