MP joins local retirees for Summer Garden Party in Newquay

Local MP Steve Double joined Newquay retirees for a Summer Garden Party at Churchill Retirement Living’s Perran Lodge development on Narrowcliff last week.

The event took place on Friday 12th July, with Mr Double and the other attendees enjoying a live music performance in the landscaped gardens, a glass of Pimm’s and traditional ice cream.

Churchill’s Regional Managing Director James Barnes said:

“It was a real pleasure to welcome Steve Double MP to our Summer Garden Party at Perran Lodge. It was the perfect opportunity for him and other local people to come and experience first-hand the fun and sociable lifestyle that comes with a brand new Churchill apartment here. Everyone enjoyed some great entertainment, as well as the chance to chat to our Owners and see for themselves the wonderful community atmosphere we have here.”

Steve Double MP added: “I was delighted to attend this event in my constituency. I enjoyed meeting the new Owners now calling Perran Lodge home and it was good to hear so many positive stories from them. Retirement properties like these are a crucial part of meeting the UK’s housing challenge and Churchill’s new development is a significant addition to the housing provision here in Newquay.”

Perran Lodge, located on Narrowcliff overlooking the sea, is a stylish collection of one and two bedroom privately-owned retirement apartments for those who want to enjoy an active, independent lifestyle. Each apartment has been designed exclusively for those in their retirement years and has a number of safety and security features, such as a 24 hour emergency call line and a video entry system, for complete peace of mind.

There is also a Lodge Manager employed by Millstream Management Services who oversees the running of the development, and an Owners’ Lounge where Owners can enjoy a catch up with like-minded neighbours and a regular programme of social events.
