Retirement housebuilder, Churchill Retirement Living has thrown the party to end all parties, to celebrate 21 successful years of business.
Over 400 employees and their families came together for the day of fun, held by Churchill Retirement Living’s owners Clinton and Spencer McCarthy (Managing Director and Group Chairman respectively), at Spencer McCarthy’s home in the New Forest.
The party had a carnival theme and staff and their families enjoyed fairground rides including Dodgems, Waltzers and even a bouncy castle. Prizes were on offer at traditional fairground stalls, and children enjoyed a Punch and Judy show, clown and facepainting. Despite recent bad weather, the sun shone all day.
Party goers were entertained by The Vernon Sisters singers, and made the most of a Pimms Tent, locally brewed ale, hog roast, burgers and as much ice cream, candyfloss and birthday cake as they could eat.
Churchill Retirement Living was founded by Clinton and Spencer McCarthy, originally as Emlor Homes, in a converted office above Clinton’s garage in New Milton, Hampshire. In 2001 the brothers changed direction to focus exclusively on building retirement apartments, and Churchill is now the fastest growing retirement housebuilder in the UK, with turnover of £130 million this year.
The company, which is in a period of rapid growth, now employs close to 450 people, with plans to employ a further 120 over the next 12 months. With bold expansion plans, Churchill aims to double sales to over 1,000 retirement apartments by 2019, with turnover at £280 million.
Spencer McCarthy, Churchill Retirement Living’s Chairman, said:
“At Churchill Retirement Living we really believe our people are crucial to our success. 21 years of business is a milestone for us, and we wanted to celebrate with colleagues and say a huge thank you to the people who help make our business the success it is.
“As a company we’ve weathered tough times, survived the recession, and come out stronger and more successful than ever. We look forward to the next 21years of Churchill, as we work to achieve our mission to be the most successful housebuilder in the UK.”
