TV personality to host charity valuation day

Antiques enthusiasts in Cirencester are being invited to join Churchill Retirement Living at its Beecham Lodge development for a special charity valuation event.

Renowned auctioneer and TV personality Philip Allwood from Moore Allen & Innocent will be giving expert advice and valuations on people’s hidden treasures on Saturday 1st October between 10am and 2pm at the Lodge on Somerford Road.

Visitors will be treated to refreshments and will be asked to make a £3 donation for each item they have valued. All of the money raised on the day will go to The Nelson Trust Charity, who provide a residential treatment centre and comprehensive programme of care and support for people seeking recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.

Rachel Walsh, Regional Sales Manager at Churchill Retirement Living, said: “It’s a real coup for us to have Philip offering valuations at the Lodge, especially for people that will be familiar with his work on Bargain Hunt and Dickinson’s Real Deal. We hope that those that bring along their antiques and collectibles for Philip to cast his expert eye over will find out it’s worth much more than they expected.

“We’d love to see as many local people as possible coming along to the Lodge and helping us to raise a lot of money for this fantastic cause. The work that The Nelson Trust does is invaluable to the people it provides care and support for and we are delighted to be supporting them. It is also the perfect opportunity for anyone who might be interested in a brand new retirement apartment to take a closer look at all Beecham Lodge has to offer.”

Beecham Lodge is situated in a picturesque residential area, half a mile from the centre of Cirencester. The apartments boast spacious rooms throughout and are an ideal combination of design and functionality. The fully-fitted, stylish kitchens include a built-in fridge and freezer, hob and an oven, which is located at an easy-reach height. All of the properties benefit from illuminated light switches for added convenience. With less to worry about, Owners have more time to do the things they enjoy, including taking advantage of the host of other benefits on offer, such as having family or friends to stay in the development’s well-appointed Guest Suite, attending one of the many events in the Owners’ Lounge, or sitting in the beautifully landscaped gardens.

Cirencester has a deservedly good reputation for shopping and eating with a choice of high street stores, independent retailers, local boutiques, cafes and restaurants. It also features one of the oldest Charter Markets in the country.

The Cotswolds offers a wealth of leisure facilities and attractions, such as nearby Berkeley Castle, the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Sudeley Castle and gardens.
