Standard features

All apartments at Churchill Retirement Living are completely self-contained with their own front door, providing you with privacy and peace and quiet when you want it.

There is a choice of one and two bedroom apartments and they may all vary slightly when it comes to dimensions and position of rooms.

Kitchens are tiled with colour-coordinated worktops, and come fully fitted with a waist-height oven, hob, hood and fridge/freezer. Most of our developments also have integral washer/dryers fitted in all apartments as standard.

Our standards

The master bedrooms have fitted mirror-front wardrobes as well as TV and telephone points, with even the smallest details considered.

The apartments come with tiled shower rooms as standard, while some of them have separate en-suites and cloakrooms as well – all designed for ease of use and with the needs of our customers in mind.

All apartments are stringently inspected by our Customer Services department to ensure they are handed over to the standard of finish and quality expected by our customers.

Carefully considered design

Our developments have been carefully designed to make life easier, leaving you free to enjoy your retirement. We always make sure our developments are well located for local shops and transport links.

Pretty Victorian town on the edge of the Peak District

Located within the Derbyshire Dales and on the south eastern edge of the Peak District lies the hidden gem of Matlock. Just a short drive from Junction 28 of the M1 via the A6, the former spa town of Matlock is an entrancing mixture of beautiful Victorian architecture, combined with everything needed for the modern day.

  • Unspoilt views of the surrounding hills are visible from all aspects in the town, giving a rural feel, yet with the benefits of town living.
  • Centred within Matlock is the beautiful Victorian park – Hall Leys. This park is so typical of the Victorian era, with a boating lake, a miniature railway and a bandstand, which is regularly used in the summer by local brass bands.
  • A stunning newly refurbished cafe in the park provides a welcome wide selection of cakes and pastries and is directly opposite the proposed development. The park is also the setting for the annual Matlock Victorian market, which takes place on the first weekend of December.
  • The location of this new development is ideally situated in the heart of this charming historic town with everything on the doorstep. As well as well known chain stores, there is a wonderful collection of independent retailers selling everything from designer clothes through to enticing gifts, while there are also plenty of cafes, restaurants and other eateries.
  • A Marks & Spencer Foodhall is a short walk from the proposed development, as is a Sainsbury’s supermarket. There is also a well stocked market hall with fresh local produce and regular farmers markets.
  • Essential local amenities are all close by in the town including a health centre, a number of surgeries, dentists, opticians, a Post Office and several banks and building societies. In the town itself there is a well equipped, modern leisure centre – The Arc – which has an eight-lane, 25 metre pool.
  • Leisure facilities abound. The beautiful surrounding countryside provides the perfect backdrop for walks with breathtaking scenery. For those preferring a flatter walk, the Cromford Canal, Lea Gardens or Lunsdale Valley offer a perfect alternative.
