Live at the very centre of it all – in the West Midlands
Although one of the most built-up of all England’s counties, with the cities of Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Coventry all within its boundaries, West Midlands is not all concrete and industry!
In fact The Black Country is actually nothing of the sort, with fine English countryside and peaceful corners to be found everywhere you go. In the cities, there are quiet, leafy suburbs – just the place for an enjoyable retirement with as much activity and entertainment as you please.
There are 23 Sites of Special Scientific Interest in the county, including Sutton Park in Sutton Coldfield, which is also a National Nature Reserve. It has an area of 2,400 acres - the largest park outside of a capital city in Europe.
For arts, culture and entertainments you are spoiled for choice. Birmingham has a world-class Orchestra and Concert Hall, and there are museums and art galleries that are the envy of the country.
Add in first-class shopping, every civic and local amenity you could wish for, and a friendly, neighbourhood welcome – and it could be absolutely perfect.
