Revive your mind

A good mental wellbeing is all about feeling confident in yourself and having positive self-esteem, which is something we can all lack at times. A positive mind set will help you build and maintain long lasting relationships with friends and family, whilst enabling you to express a range of positive emotions.

According to research you can boost your mental wellbeing with these five tips:

  • Keep active – walk to the shops or take up a hobby like golf or bowls. Take the stairs rather than the lift where possible and try activities that you might enjoy like swimming or cycling.
  • Connect – stay connected to friends, family and those around you. Spend time socialising with people whether you catch up over a coffee or take a trip to the cinema, evidence shows that good relationships are important for mental wellbeing.
  • Keep learning – learning gives you a sense of achievement and boosts your confidence as well as your mental wellbeing. Whether you learn to cook, play a musical instrument or sign up to take a course you’ve been wanting to do it’s all part or a learning journey that will broaden your mind.
  • Be kind – whether it’s a small act of kindness or a generous gesture, giving to others can help you build new social networks. Volunteering at a local group or charity is a fantastic way to keep busy and help others.
  • Be mindful – be more aware of your feelings, thoughts and people around you. This will positively change the way you feel about life and help in challenging situations enabling you to live proactively.
