Introducing the Churchill Awards 2014 - The Local Hero Award

churchll awards group photo small2014 marks the third year of the Churchill Awards which have been created to recognise and publicise the outstanding achievement and exceptional service of individuals over the age of 65.  The Daily Telegraph has supported the awards from its initiation and will again support the awards in conjunction with Wave 105.  The Awards demonstrate that older people still have a significant role to play in British society and should be celebrated.  As we are marking our third year, we want to know who you think should be considered by the panel of judges and are giving you the exclusive opportunity to have you say.

Following the success of the awards, they will again recognise specific achievements, which will be eventually decided upon by a panel of expert judges which include TV and Radio presenter Esther Rantzen and Chief Executive of Age UK Tom Wright amongst other experts from the field.

2015 – Get involved.....We would like you to say who you think truly deserves to be recognised for their successes and impact in the local community

This year we have teamed up with Wave 105 and KMFM radio stations to search for a Local Hero! We are searching for anyone over the age of 65 who is still making a massive difference to the local community.
