History of Churchill
Churchill Retirement Living was founded in 1994 by brothers Spencer and Clinton McCarthy. Originally starting out as Emlor Homes, they specialised in building stone and thatched cottages in and around Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire. However, by 1998, the company had grown so much and was voted ‘Housebuilder of the Year’ by WhatHouse? Magazine.
In 2000, we decided to focus exclusively on the development of purpose-built retirement developments. Then in 2003, Emlor Homes was renamed Churchill Retirement Living.
As a company we’ve been changing retirement living for the better for 20 years, and we continually strive to be the retirement housebuilder of choice. With over 160 retirement developments across the UK, we are proud to say we have a trusted, quality product that is supported by our experience, knowledge and our award winning management company, Millstream Management Services.
