Churchill Retirement Living’s Woolmans Lodge development in Shirley raised £280 for local charity Acorns at a special Warming Morning event on Wednesday 12th February. Local people were welcomed to step out of the cold and into the warmth of the Lodge’s cosy Owners’ Lounge, where they were treated to coffee and cake in return for a small donation.
All of the money raised will go to Acorns, a local charity which provides babies, children and young people who have life limiting or life threatening conditions with a network of specialist palliative nursing care and support.

Every penny counts, which is why we’re pleased so many people came along to support the event and make a donation in return for the refreshments on offer. It was the perfect excuse to enjoy a bit of indulgence, as well as an opportunity for visitors to experience the lifestyle on offer at the Lodge.”
Churchill’s Warming Mornings events take place throughout February at its retirement development across the country, with all the money raised going towards local causes chosen by Owners. The Lodges that raise the most will also have their total matched by Churchill’s charitable arm, the Churchill Foundation, boosting the funds even further.
