About the role

We are looking for a talented Head of Technical (Group) to lead our Group Technical team, based at our head office in Ringwood, Hampshire.

You will support all AutoCAD users across the Company with technical and management support for their CAD software including the provision of menu systems, training and any support users may need to carry out their functions.  This will require visiting Regional Offices as well as remotely using phone calls, Teams and Quick Assist.  You will also support the Company IT department as required in support of the AutoCAD software, installations and management.

Our Head of Technical (Group) will be the technical representative for Churchill Retirement Living to industry regulatory and legislative organisations. You will be in regular liaisons with the likes of HBF and NHBC and will seek to have an influence on all matters that affect retirement developments.

The hours of work are Monday to Thursday, 9am – 5.30pm and 9am – 5pm on Fridays.

Although this is an office based role, some site visits will be required, therefore you must be willing to travel on occasion and have a valid UK driver’s license.

About you

It is essential you have a sound knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, building products/materials and construction processes.

You will have an HNC or equivalent in an appropriate discipline and be able to demonstrate a number of years’ experience in a similar role.  You will be a proficient user of Microsoft Office including the use of writing Batch files for file manipulation and management including working in DOS, using Notepad and Notepad++ or similar ascii file editing programs and Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint as well as the other main Microsoft tools.  You will have expert knowledge of file management in Explorer and  will be an expert level user of AutoCAD, capable of writing and editing Script files, Lisp routines, DSD and CTB files and have suitable experience in using AutoCAD Publishing and Visual Lisp, writing and supporting Tool Palette menus and the like.
