Churchill Retirement Living crowned ‘Housebuilder of the Year’

Churchill Retirement Living has become the first ever retirement living specialist to have been named overall ‘Housebuilder of the Year’ at the WhatHouse? Awards 2016.

The awards’ top accolade finished off a remarkable haul for us as we also came away with a Gold Award for Best Medium Housebuilder and a Silver Award for Best Retirement Development.

Now in their 35th year, the WhatHouse? Awards are widely recognised as the biggest and most prestigious event for the nation’s new homes builders, and the competition in every category was extremely strong this year. Over 1,700 senior industry figures attended the awards ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, which was hosted by William Hague.

Spencer McCarthy, Churchill’s Chairman & CEO, said:
“I’m extremely proud to have achieved this incredible hat-trick of WhatHouse? Awards, topped off with the overall ‘Housebuilder of the Year’. Like most housebuilders we’ve faced plenty of challenges this year, but we’ve worked hard as a team to achieve continued growth and success. To be recognised by the industry in this way is a real testament to the excellence of our people and our product, our superb build quality, our customer service and the way we do business.

“Our mission is: To be the most successful housebuilder in the UK, and I can certainly say that we are on the way to achieving this. Not only have we won the biggest accolade in housebuilding, and are the first retirement developer to win the most coveted prize in the new homes industry, but we also have added a number of other awards to our list during 2016:

  • Housebuilder of the Year – What House? Awards 2016
  • Company of the Year – Solent Business Awards 2016
  • 5 Star Customer Satisfaction – HBF
  • Ranked 14th – Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2016
  • One of Britain’s leading private mid-market growth companies, ranking 12 in the Sunday Times BDO Profift Track 100 for 2016, and 151st in the Sunday Times Top Track 250 league table 2016.

“We’ll keep on investing in the business and we’re in a strong position to keep creating more jobs and building more new communities, both here in Ringwood and throughout the UK.”

Congratulations to the team on this historic success!
