Local Lynda Simmonett names new development in Orpington

A local woman is celebrating after being awarded for coming up with a name for our new development on Station Road in Orpington.

Lynda was presented with a cheque for £100 by Churchill’s Regional Marketing Executive Liz Luesley and Site Manager Mike Barham for choosing the name ‘Edinburgh Lodge’ in a respectful tribute to the late Prince Phillip.

Explaining her reason for choosing the name, Lynda said: “I was delighted to hear about Churchill’s decision to select my suggestion of Edinburgh Lodge, and even more delighted to receive a prize! I thought it would be a very appropriate and timely way to pay tribute to the late Duke of Edinburgh.”

Liz Luesley, Regional Marketing Executive at Churchill Retirement Living, said: “For every new Churchill development we usually choose a name with a connection to the local community. However, in this instance we thought it was an excellent idea to commemorate Prince Phillip, who gave so much to the people of Great Britain throughout his long and extraordinary life. We hope Edinburgh Lodge will be a place where local people can emulate the Duke by living a full and active lifestyle, pursuing their passions and enjoying their retirement years to the full.”

Construction on the new privately-owned apartments is scheduled for completion in December, and a new CGI image has been released to show what the finished development will look like. For more information or to register for updates get in touch today.
