Gwyneth Markey from Billericay is celebrating after being announced as the winner of a competition to name Churchill Retirement Living’s new development on Laindon Road in the heart of town.
Gwyneth was presented with a cheque for £100 by Regional Marketing Manager Yvette Christy for choosing the winning name “Meadow Lodge”.
Explaining her reason for choosing the name, Gwyneth said: “I was delighted to hear of Churchill’s decision to accept the name Meadow Lodge. I thought it had a nice ring to it and there is a beautiful area quite close to this development called ‘The Meadows’ so I thought my suggestion may be appropriate.”
Yvette Christy, Regional Marketing Manager at Churchill Retirement Living, said:
At Churchill, we like to involve the local community in choosing the names for our developments and we often do so by running a competition asking for suggestions. We received lots of great entries for the new Billericay development, and Meadow Lodge was our favourite, so Gwyneth was the lucky winner. We are really pleased to award her with this winning cheque as a big thank you.
Meadow Lodge will comprise of 32 private, self-contained apartments specially designed for the over 60s with features such as a video-entry system, lift to all floors, a 24 hour care and support system and a Lodge Manager provided by Churchill’s own management company Millstream Management Services. Shared facilities will include an Owners’ Lounge, Guest Suite and landscaped gardens.
Like all Churchill Retirement Living developments, the location has been chosen for convenience and is just a short walk from local shops and amenities in Billericay.
