Churchill Foundation Golf Tournament raises over £30,000

Local Dorset and Hampshire business figures teed off to help Churchill Retirement Living’s charitable arm, the Churchill Foundation, raise over £30,000 at its Charity Golf Tournament. The event took place at the renowned Remedy Oak Golf Club course in Dorset on Tuesday 11th September.

17 teams battled it out to be crowned this year’s champions, and the winning foursome was the Wooldridge Group team. Guests later took part in a charity auction bidding for a range of ‘money can’t buy’ items and experiences to boost the charity coffers.

The money raised will go to one of the Churchill Foundation’s main Charity Partners for 2018, Hope for Food. This Bournemouth-based charity is run entirely by volunteers, it helps more than 400 families and runs soup kitchens for homeless and vulnerable people.

Spencer and Clinton McCarthy, Churchill Retirement Living co-founders and Trustees of the Churchill Foundation, said:

We’re very proud of what the Churchill Foundation has achieved and the many lives it’s transformed since it was set up less than three years ago. This is our second Churchill Foundation Golf Tournament, which plays a big part in our fundraising for 2018, and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported the event and helped to make it such a success. The money raised for Hope For Food will make a big difference to the important work this charity does.

“Today would not have been possible without our generous hosts Remedy Oak Golf Club, who we would like to thank for partnering with us again this year, and thank you also to our headline sponsor Moore Blatch LLP. We are hugely grateful for all our sponsors’ support, including EP Heating, PC building supplies, Ringwood Brewery, and Beaulieu Wine.”
