Churchill Retirement Living scoops “Private Business of the Year” Award

Churchill Retirement Living is celebrating after winning top honours at a major national awards ceremony, the UK Private Business Awards 2017. The company was crowned “Private Business of the Year” at a gala dinner in London on Thursday 14th September.

Now in their 7th year and sponsored by PWC, the UK Private Business Awards are positioned to recognise the success and achievements of private businesses in the UK. Often referred to as “the Diamonds”, they are presented to the UK’s most successful private companies, and attended by over 450 entrepreneurs, CEOs, FDs, COOs and management teams from a diverse range of industries.

The judges’ criteria for “Private Business of the Year” were to recognise “a company that’s moving forward, with good cash flows, a strong market position and growth in products or services, and that has excelled in 2016.” The award recognised Churchill’s strong long-term strategy, ambitious outlook and vision, and commitment to supporting its local and wider community.

Since 2001 Churchill has focused exclusively on building retirement developments specifically designed to meet the needs of independent retired people, and has built well over 100 developments across the country. The company has expanded rapidly in recent years and is now a major employer in Ringwood, with over 550 staff in total across six UK offices.

Spencer McCarthy, Chairman & CEO of Churchill Retirement Living, said:

“I’m extremely proud to have won this award, and recognition yet again that we are the best at what we do. It’s a testament to the strength of our business model, the quality of our product and our excellent customer service. More importantly it’s something our fantastic team of people around the country can all be really proud of. I’d like to personally thank all our colleagues for the hard work and dedication they put into making Churchill Retirement Living such a successful business.”
