Quinton retirement development wins bronze award

Hadley Lodge in Quinton has won the Bronze Award at the Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC) Awards 2019. The Churchill Retirement Living development, managed by Millstream Management Services (MMS), received a top prize out of the almost 25,000 retirement housing developments nationwide.

The EAC Awards, now in their 8th year, celebrate the best specialist housing for older people, and aim to help shape the future of housing in later life through engaging some 19,000 Owners, Colleagues, visitors and volunteers who were all able to vote for their favourite development out of the 1,220 nominated between 15 November 2018 and 28 February 2019.

Dean Marlow, Managing Director of MMS, said:

“Our philosophy is to put our customers at the heart of everything we do, and we’re delighted to see Hadley Lodge win one of the top prizes at these prestigious national awards. Since the award is voted for by our Owners, Colleagues, visitors and volunteers, it shows that everyone is very happy with the way the development is being run. I’m proud to say that a total of 16 MMS-managed developments around the country achieved this recognition, which is a credit to the hard work and dedication of our entire team.”

John Galvin, EAC’s Chief Executive, explained the importance of the awards: “Specialist housing for older people plays an enormously significant role in helping them stay independent for longer. The security, support and great communities have a positive impact on individuals and reduce the need for NHS services.”

Hadley Lodge is a collection of one and two bedroom private, self-contained apartments specially designed for the over 60s. A Lodge Manager is there to look after the day-to-day running of the development and foster a sense of community among the Owners, helping them to enjoy and active, independent retirement, and providing peace of mind for them and their families.
