Churchill’s Warming Morning events raise £4,000 for charities across the country

Churchill Retirement Living has raised an impressive total of £4,000 this year through its special Warming Morning events at locations all over the country, benefiting a range of local charities chosen by its Owners.

During the winter months the specialist retirement developer called on local communities to step in out of the cold and into the warmth of its welcoming Owners’ Lounges to enjoy hot drinks and indulgent snacks in return for a small donation to a local charity.

Events were held all the way from Mount’s Bay Lodge in Penzance to Tatterton Lodge in Wetherby, with 100% of the money raised going towards a range of local charities chosen by Owners.

Of the 24 Churchill developments to take part, Sachs Lodge in Torquay came out on top with an impressive fundraising total of £421.40. Churchill’s own charity the Churchill Foundation will match fund this amount for Sachs Lodge’s chosen charity, The Torbay League of Friends, which supports the nearby Torbay Hospital. King’s Lodge in Maidstone was a close runner up with an equally impressive £396 raised in aid of the Heart of Kent Hospice.

Spencer McCarthy, Churchill Retirement Living’s Chairman & CEO, said:

We’re delighted to have raised such an impressive total through this year’s Warming Mornings events. 100% of the money raised will go towards local causes chosen by our Owners, supporting the vital work these charities do in their local communities, and I’m proud to say the Churchill Foundation will also match the amount raised by our top fundraiser Sachs Lodge in Torquay. I’d like to say a big thank you to all our Owners, Colleagues, Lodge Managers and members of the public who took part in these events and helped make them such a success.
