New Westwood Cross Retirement Apartments Named After Kent Symbol

Ahead of its official launch, Churchill Retirement Living’s new development in Westwood Cross has been named Invicta Lodge thanks to the help of the public. Jan Davis, the winner of the recent naming competition, named the collection of 51 one and two bedroom apartments after the white horse symbol for the county of Kent, with ‘invicta’ translating to ‘unconquered’ in Latin, which Kent has been since 1066.

Invicta Lodge is a charming collection of retirement apartments located in the heart of Westwood Cross. The apartments feature fully integrated kitchens, a Guest Suite for visiting friends and family, and an Owners’ Lounge with a communal coffee bar leading out to a beautiful, landscaped garden. Other benefits of the lodge include energy efficient heating and a Lodge Manger, available Monday to Friday to help with any wants or needs.

Jan Davis commented: “I am very honoured to have my name suggestion chosen for the apartments, especially after learning how many people entered the competition. I have family local to the area and strong memories of places referencing ‘invicta’ whenever I visited.  After researching into this and the origin behind it, I felt the name was a perfect fit. The money has been a wonderful bonus too.”

Anne Scherrer, Regional Marketing Manager at Churchill Retirement Living South East, added: “With Invicta Lodge now named, we’re excited to move forward with the next steps for the apartments. Invicta Lodge offers the perfect home for retirees as the apartments have been perfectly designed to offer low-maintenance living. We recommend getting in touch sooner, rather than later so no-one misses out.”

Close by to the Lodge, there is a range of beautiful local beaches for those who love a picturesque walk or picnic. Invicta Lodge is also ideally situated close to Westwood Cross shopping centre, with a wide choice of entertainment spaces, high street brands, eateries and café’s, there really is something for everyone.
