“I was initially suspicious about the concept of retirement living and thought an independent living development is not for me. How wrong I was!
“I was in the process of selling my property and buying another when my daughter and I came upon a Churchill site quite by chance. As soon as I walked in I felt comfortable. I was not pressurised by Gary, the friendly Sales Executive, who was happy to answer all my questions. I saw a selection of apartments with him and found the one for me.
“So the process was started and my old property was bought through Churchill’s Home Exchange service, which gave me a guaranteed cash buyer and put me in control of the move. I was also assured that the removal fees would be paid for by Churchill as well as a contribution towards solicitors’ costs.
“The whole process took just three weeks from start to finish, completed when the removal firm came as promised to pack for me and bring my belongings to Langton Lodge. Churchill even arranged for myself, my dog and my documents to be driven down in my own car!
“Since moving into my apartment I feel safe, secure and very happy. I feel like I’m on a permanent holiday!
“The Lodge Manager Craig and Sales Executive Gary have treated me with kindness and efficiency with no questions daunting them! I have settled in surprisingly quickly with the knowledge that help is at hand if needed, or friendly neighbours if required. Or indeed I can close my own front door for privacy which I relish at times, as do we all. Not a day goes by though without a friendly chat and some banter with Gary, Craig and my new neighbours. We are like a little family.
