Retirement development’s charity tea is a roaring success

More than £100 has been raised for a local hospice after a charity vintage afternoon tea was held at a popular retirement development.

Members of the local community were invited to attend the special event at Churchill Retirement Living’s Tamarisk Lodge, in East Wittering, to help raise vital funds for St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Visitors were treated to tea, scones and plenty of cake while enjoying live entertainment from local vintage performer Dawn Gracie.

St Wilfrid’s Hospice provides tailored end of life care both in the community and at its Hospice in Chichester, supporting patients living with a terminal illness, as well as providing care and support for their family and friends.

Amy-Claire Thomas, Lodge Manager at Churchill Retirement Living, said: “It was wonderful to see so many people visiting the Lodge to help us to raise such a fantastic amount of money for this worthwhile cause. Dawn was very generous performing completely free of charge and we are very grateful for everyone’s support. The work that St Wilfrid’s Hospice does is invaluable to the patients it cares for and their families and we are proud to be supporting the phenomenal work that they do.”
