Before I moved to New Pooles Lodge, we lived in Emersons Green but sadly my husband passed away last year and I didn’t feel that I needed to maintain a large home on my own anymore, so I decided to downsize.
I’d already decided that I’d like to live in a retirement development, and what really determined it for me at New Pooles Lodge was that I was able to maintain my independence, but have access to 24-hour care support if I needed it.
“I sold my house very quickly and exchanged on my new apartment at New Pooles Lodge the same day. The process was so simple and the Churchill team were fantastic throughout the move. It all went so smoothly, which was a huge relief for me.
The location is ideal. I have six children and five of them live with their families all over Bristol so it was important for me to be close by to see them regularly. They can come to visit me in my apartment, which has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, so guests can stay over, and if we fancy going out, the town centre has lots of coffee shops and nice shops to look around.
“With a few more residents now moved in, we’ve already had our first social event - a cream tea which was absolutely lovely. I’ve started meeting new people at the coffee mornings and am really settling in well. I’m really going to enjoy how sociable the Lodge is and am looking forward to meeting more new residents this summer. From the day I moved into my apartment it’s felt like being on holiday.”
