Construction starts on two new Churchill retirement developments

Churchill Retirement Living has started work on two new developments and is encouraging local retirees to register their interest to find out more.

Construction is now underway at the new developments in Lymington and Highcliffe which once complete will both comprise of more than 40 private, self-contained one and two bedroom apartments that are specially designed for the over 60s.

The apartments will include features such as a video-entry system, lift to all floors and a 24 hour care and support system. In addition, communal facilities include an Owners’ Lounge, Guest Suite and landscaped gardens.

James Barnes, Regional Managing Director at Churchill Retirement Living South West, comments: “With more than 11.1 million people in the UK aged 65 or over, we believe better provision of housing for older people and the need to ensure there are sufficient, good quality retirement living options to meet the needs of an ageing population is an absolute priority.

“Our properties offer security, peace of mind and independent living, along with community and support. Being in a manageable home with no maintenance can offer a new lease of life for people – ensuring they are close to amenities, and surrounded by a new community. We already have a number of successful developments across Hampshire and Dorset and we’re delighted to be bringing new developments to Lymington and Highcliffe. We have already seen lots of interest from local over 60s keen to find out more about the benefits of retirement living.

“Anyone interested in finding out more about what a Churchill Retirement Living development can offer can register their interest now to be kept updated on the progress of the two sites and be amongst the first to find out when the apartments will be released for sale.”

The Georgian market town of Lymington offers a variety of traditional, independent stores and designer boutiques, as well as a florist, bakery, greengrocer, pharmacy and post office. There is a weekly market with local produce and a Tesco Metro, Waitrose and M&S Food can all be found on the high street.

Independent tea rooms and restaurants are scattered around the town, so you can enjoy a casual afternoon tea with the family or a catch up with friends. The Malt is Lymington’s own community centre and is home to a cafe, cinema and theatre, while also offering leisure, education and fitness classes.

Just a few miles from the towns of Christchurch, Lymington and New Milton, Highcliffe is also within easy reach of Bournemouth with all its shopping facilities and attractions. Close to the development, there are various eateries, a library, independent shops and a pharmacy.

Highcliffe is situated on the doorstep of the protected countryside of the New Forest, which is now officially a National Park. The town itself features award-winning beaches and there are sixteen nature reserves, wildlife sites and sites of special scientific interest in the areas.
