Local MP lays special date plaque at new Park Gate retirement development

Local MP Suella Braverman visited Churchill Retirement Living’s new Beck Lodge development in Park Gate last week to install a special date plaque. She was also given an exclusive tour of the site, where construction is nearing completion, along with local Councillors Ian Bastable and Simon Martin.

Churchill’s Regional Managing Director James Barnes said: “We were delighted that Mrs Braverman was able to join us to mark this occasion, as we are now welcoming people to Beck Lodge’s new Show Complex to give them a taste of what the Churchill lifestyle is all about. Our private one and two bedroom apartments offer security, peace of mind and independent living, along with community and support, and we’ve already seen lots of interest from local over 60s keen to find out more about how they can benefit from what we offer.”

Suella Braverman MP added:

“I’ve made clear in Parliament that we need more options for people who might wish to downsize as they get older and retirement properties like these at Churchill’s new Beck Lodge are a crucial part of helping to meet that challenge and in turn creating more movement in the housing market generally.  Specialist retirement housing is proven to have a very real, beneficial effect on older people’s health and wellbeing and exactly the sort of thing responsible councils are making sure is part of their housing delivery.”
