A thriving new community takes shape at Liberty Lodge, Bury St Edmunds

Churchill has given a warm welcome to the first new Owners at Liberty Lodge in the heart of Bury St Edmunds, where a thriving community is starting to take shape and the new apartments are selling fast. The first wave of over 60s have been enjoying an independent and hassle free lifestyle since moving into the new retirement apartments, which are perfectly located within easy walking distance of the town centre.

Judith Barber was among the first people to move into the Lodge, and she loves being just a short walk from the local shops. She says: “I chose Churchill above any other builder because of their good reputation, caring attitude, after sales service, and building style and appearance.

“My apartment is very light, airy and modern and easily accessible by lifts or stairs close by. It is convenient for town and the many surrounding amenities, as they are only a short walk away. I have my independent lifestyle as before, but there is always someone around to help if needed.

“The worries and stresses of maintaining a house all fade away once you are here. There is opportunity to meet new friends and have company when you choose it. It will probably be the best move you ever make!”

Kay Rothwell was another of the first to move in, commenting: “I chose Churchill for the convenience. My apartment is well appointed, the windows are cleaned every six weeks and the carpet in the corridors is cleaned daily. I also have very friendly neighbours who I can meet up with regularly for coffee and chats.”

Churchill’s Marketing Manager Tunji Quadri adds: “The apartments at Liberty Lodge are selling fast and it’s lovely to see how quickly the new Owners are forming new friendships as they all settle in. We want to enable people to relax and enjoy an independent retirement whilst also becoming a part of the Churchill community, and that approach is certainly succeeding here!”

Liberty Lodge is a collection of 49 one and two bedroom apartments with fitted kitchens, landscaped gardens with patio and seating areas, and a Lodge Manager to provide a friendly face throughout the week and oversee the day-to-day running of the development. Owners also benefit from a 24-hour call centre support system, a Guest Suite for family and friends to visit and an Owners’ Lounge with a coffee bar.

The local area is filled with award winning restaurants, gastropubs, and cafés, along with independent boutiques and high street stores. Close by to the development, the Arc Shopping Centre also provides the town with a wide variety of shops and eateries. Bury St Edmunds boasts many leisure activities in the town including swimming, golf, and tennis, as well as having various parks with scenic walking and cycling routes such as the Abbey Gardens, Nowton Park and West Stow Country Park.

The town also has excellent connections and is near the A14 and A134 for routes to Newmarket, Cambridge, and Ipswich, all under 35 minutes away. The Bury St Edmunds Train Station is just a few miles from Liberty Lodge offering wider connections to the region.
