Churchill supports Bridgnorth school with playground furniture donation

Pupils at St John's Catholic Primary School in Bridgnorth are being given the chance to connect with the great outdoors, following a generous donation towards new playground furniture from Churchill’s Mortimer Lodge. The team at Churchill were thrilled to step in and support the schools upgrade initiative, especially being located so close and having strong connections to the Lodge.

On Thursday, 22nd June, representatives from Churchill Retirement Living, Caroline Cartwright (Sales Executive), Bernadette Hennelly (Regional Marketing Manager) and Fiona Bastock (Lodge Manager) visited St John’s Catholic Primary School to present the donation. There was a cheque presentation ceremony, where it was handed over to the school team, including Elena, the regional winner of Churchill Retirement Living's Coronation emblem design competition, along with fellow pupils Eliza, Patrick and Joey.

The donation, which comes through Churchill’s own charity the Churchill Foundation, will undoubtedly enhance the outdoor play experiences for the pupils at St John’s Catholic Primary School. The new playground furniture will provide a safe and stimulating environment for the children to learn, play, and grow, fostering their physical and social development.

Churchill’s Regional Marketing Manager Bernadette Hennelly said: "We are delighted to have had the opportunity to contribute to St John’s Catholic Primary School's playground. With Mortimer Lodge having strong connections to the local school, we recognise the importance of supporting educational initiatives and creating positive spaces for children to flourish. The Churchill Foundation was created to give something back to the communities where we build, and we hope that our contribution will make a meaningful difference to the pupils at St John’s Catholic Primary School.”
