Service charges explained…

We understand that the ongoing cost of running your new apartment is an important factor to consider when deciding to purchase a Churchill apartment. That’s why a full service charge budget analysis is available for each individual development. Owners are consulted on this annually, and we always aim to keep the cost as low as possible.

In fact many Owners are pleasantly surprised that the service charges for their apartment frequently work out less than what they were paying, in comparable costs, on their previous property. This is backed up by research from the Housing LIN, who found that downsizing from a 3 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom retirement apartment could save an Owner approximately £1,300* per year. This is a potential saving of around 15% on bills.

With energy costs on the increase, it is worth highlighting that we incorporate renewable technologies to supply hot water and heating to reduce electricity bills. We also insulate our developments to a very high standard. This means that the need to turn the heating on is kept to a minimum.

“Living in a Churchill Apartment is absolutely marvellous. The whole building is so nice and warm all the time that we’ve hardly had to use the heating inside our apartment. When we do turn it up a notch or two it’s nice to know we don’t have to worry about the cost or the environmental impact, as it’s all so energy efficient and covered within our annual service charge.”

Retirement living in Andover

A picturesque market town, with an attractive high street and narrow walkways that date back to Saxon times, is the ideal location for our retirement homes. Andover is home to many buildings from the 18th Century, when it was an important stopover for coaches on their way to London, Southampton and Oxford.

The main high street has a good cross-section of chain stores and local shops providing for most shoppers’ needs, while the Chantry Shopping Centre is a vibrant place to visit. The town centre also has a host of old pubs and restaurants offering a range of dining options.

With its centuries-old history, you’ll find plenty of places to discover it all. The Andover Museum and the Museum of the Iron Age are both popular, while the Museum of Army Flying and the Museum of Army Chaplaincy show the influence that the army still has on local life.

Testimonials

Eileen Hale
Chantry Lodge, Andover

“I no longer maintain a house; pay out for building insurance, window cleaners, gardening work or even have to remember to put the rubbish out. The kitchen is completely fitted out with fridge, freezer, eye level oven, and washing machine. There is even a Care line if needed. Also, being situated within walking distance from the shops, doctors, dentist etc, my life doesn’t run on bus times anymore.”

Mr & Mrs Dent
Chantry Lodge, Andover

“We’re in reasonably good health so we thought it’d be better to go through the upheaval of downsizing and moving sooner rather than later. We explored the idea of retirement living quite a lot. We wanted somewhere that offered independence, but with emergency assistance if required, close to local amenities and transport. Chantry Lodge certainly ticked all of the right boxes.”
